In 2005, John McIntire was so fed up with big box stores and the lack of customer service that he and his wife decided to start a new holiday store focusing on unique and fun gift items. Hence, Colorado Seasons opened its doors in southeast Aurora in August 2005. John decided to carry Thomas Kinkade artwork in order to help beautify the walls. This just so happened to be the year that the only four Thomas Kinkade galleries in the Denver metro retired or closed, leaving Colorado Seasons as the only Thomas Kinkade Gallery in Denver.
